Its been 3 months now but better late than never :) The baby is so attached to me (my boobies!!) that it is almost impossible to find time to blog. Well, here it goes.....
I've started having mild contractions on the afternoon of 12th october 2011 when I were in hospital. The contractions came every 10 minutes starting from 12 until about 2pm. The pain was still mild and bearable. Walking around the hospital when the contractions came really helped and so did long breathing in and out. At about 4 pm, the doctor came to check on me. My contractions were still far apart and I was about 8 cm dilated. She told me that she wanted to give me the ummmmph to speed things up. By that, she meant she wanted to induce me. I quickly asked for pedhidine as I know what was coming my way! so the nurse put me on the drip and injected the pain killer on my right bum. It didnt take long for the effect to come! The contractions came like a big waves, one after another hitting me really hard and not given me much time to breath and relax. And the pethidine really sucks! It made me really drowsy! lalok, high and my mind was disorinted. Masa ni memang payah nak focus on riding the contractions.
Not long after that the doctor checked me on again and acted suprised. She asked me to try the practice pushing. Masa ni nurse makin ramai dalam bilik tu. Semuanya dok suruh I push with each contraction. Then the doctor came. Everybody was shouting, cheering for me to push harder. Serious payah. I was not focussing on the pushing the baby out but more on how to cope with the pain. And within minutes the baby was out at around 4.38 pm and placed on my tummy all bloodied and slightly bluish. My baby! As soon as he was out , the pain went away! Lega! Well, that wasnt accurate actually. There was still some contractions that followed to push the placenta out but they were mild compared to the real ones. I was a bit worried coz I didnt hear the baby crying but it wasnt the long that the nurse took him and cleared his airway and I heard his screaming very loudly.
We love you little guy, Muhammad Rayyan Aqiff :)
